I keep my gator gar outdoor without temperature regulation. The temperautre dropped from 68F to 50F last week and my gator gars has stopped eating completely. The temperture has risen back to about 68F this week but the gator gar is still not eating. Do I have anything to worry about?

well, they're cold blooded creatures. when the temp drops, their bodies prepare for a slowed metabolic state. their need for consumption of energy declines and they don't eat as much. it's not the kind of thing that can be turned on or off, with the sudden switch of temperature. perhaps, he's reached that point and won't come out, unless the warm spell were to continue for several more days. his activity level should be lower, also. fish don't hibernate like bears, for example. they do go into a slowed state for the winter, as food sources are reduced with colder temperatures. this is nature's way of protecting fish. i'm not a scientist, just another speculating hobbyist with a little bit of knowledge and a lot of opinion. ;)
