Zix, it is obvious that a central northern american fish is quite able to live in a pond in the Algarve......year round. We don't know what cold is, in the Algarve.
 
:D :D yea but this year was realy cold , the weather is been crazy , see this weak have been raining :nilly: :screwy: and i live inland up in the hills , is a bit coller than near the sea, wow you gone do whit yours ? LX is even colder
 
i'm not keeping any, one is going to zix, the other to a guy from coimbra. further north;)
 
Im sure gar can take very low temperatures and survive.
But im sure it will severly stress the animal
 
Mine will, eventually, go to the farm in the Alentejo.
 
Just keep him in the pond and when it becomes really cold just bring them inside.

my big tank is starting this weekend but is not big for a full grow Gar .
wow long to get 1.20 m or in feet 3.94

i want to see a gator gar pond
maybe if i turn my swimming pool into a pond i can get some
