the filtration is a canaster ehiem 2222 i think it did the job with the turtle which is VERY messy so i think it will handle just about anything i put into it yeah starting to lean away from barra now the more i read about them. Are cichlids really hard to keep? The reason i ask this is because i was on a site which was saying about all the different types and what can have with what and there wasnt alot that 'apparently' got along
 
Don't rekon the 2222 is gonna be up to it mate. They're rated to about 70gal, and by my maths your tank is nearly 200gal. Prob gonna need to upgrade the filtration befor you up the bio load IMO.

Your mate doesn't feed or waterchange enough the mine went from 8cm to 40 in 1 yr
 
well i had that filter with my turtle and it kept it clean i could be wrong on the number of the filter but it kept the tank clean as a wistle and she was VERY messy like big digger always messing up the bottom too but that filter seamed fine ill check the numbers on it though
