GE all purpiose silicone I

I used that exact stuff to place the baffles in my sump. The GE 1 is good but the GE ll is no good because it has mold inhibitors. However, I have heard of people using GE ll with no issues.

If you think about it, as long as you're doing good water changes, you should be diluting any chemicals that might be leaching into the aquarium. While I would certainly not recommend it, I don't know if you would have any problems if you used stuff with mold inhibitors.

That's the exact product, I picked up from Home Depot, to reseal my 180 3.5 years ago.....no issues

Same here. I sealed the entire bottom pane with GE-1. Going 4+ years w/no issues.

GE silicone I works great, I also use lock-tite...the type rated for aquariums...has a higher tinsel strength. Red devil also makes a silicone that has no mold inhibitors and seems to cure clearer than the GE. I know someone personally who used GE II to reseal a 55g and put about 200 koi angel fish fry in it, the whole lot was dead in less than 24 hours!! Don't use mold inhibitors!!
