Gecko "hand" feeding

How often should I feed that Gecko dust mix?

I recommend dusting all the live food you give your day gecko. Most store bought live food is not as nutritious as something from the wild. If you can you could gutload your crickets before feeding them to your gecko.

If youre doing live food, I would do it every other feeding, or maybe every third. Depending on what youre supplmenting with. Some of them are just a mega load of calcium, and some are actually vitamins and what-not.

Of course, it would be more practical to raise your own or order in bulk to make sure you have healthy crix, but thats a pain if you only have one or two.

But I'm not the day gecko expert. Doesnt T-Rex make a day gecko diet similar to the CGD?

I am gut loading the crickets, and also the dust food is a plethora of fruits, calcium, and vitamins. I'll probably go with gut loaded crickets every day, and give it a few less on days when I feed the prepared food, after it eats that.

when my large guys dont catch all the large crickets I get annoyed by them chirping so catch them and they eat them right out of myhands yes they bite me all the time but it doesnt hurt of course only my leopard geckos do this

I feed the small ones to avoid exactly that. If I had a chirping cricket in my house escape, I couldn't rest until I found it. I'm an insomniac, I can't sleep without silence.

Theres such a thing os oversupplementing. Normally herps wouldnt eat more than they need (to a dangerous level anyway), but they cant control what you put in their food. Im not sure what limits there are, but I'm just saying...

You don't have to smother the crickets with vitamins. A light shake n' bake will do nicely. Plus some of it comes off after you put the crickets in the tank.
