Wondering if I need to dechlorinate drinking water for my Gecko, and also the water I use for misting. I have been using RO water to play it safe.

i never did... i used to breed leopard geckos and i kept cresteds and day geckos and never had a problem

Mine is a Madagascar Day gecko, does that make a difference?

No worries wurm, you'll be fine. But if you're really concerned you can fill up an empty gallon milk jug and let it sit out for a couple of days with the top off. I have a well and I have pretty hard water. It leaves calcium and lime deposits on my glass tanks if I don't clean them off every once in a while.

Amphibians are the only one that need their water treated...

However, please don't use RO, distilled or anything similar. It takes the minerals away from their bodies.

Sounds good, thanks for the help!

Mine actually likes tap water more than distilled. He drinks from the water droplets that form on the glass and leaves, like they do in the wild.

I used to have a spotted salamander, always used Poland springs with him. i use tap water with my gecko and he's thriving!!! He's always active, brightly colored, thick body, no scars.

Well to tell you the truth i do NOT trust NY water. Today for the second time, I had fishpocolypse in one of my tanks after doing a water change. I hink somethings in the water, seriously.
