i dunno bout the uk. but i do know that when me and my dad where in kenya and south africa, we met tons of folks(it seemed like all the white people, not to be rasist) had british accents. so i am gonna say either east africa(which covers madagascar) or an austrulasian island(new guinea, new zealand, australia, tasmania) and +1 for he is a giant day gecko, no other one has the face stripes like that, or the back pattern

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D._C._Douglas American dude's impression of a British accent? Clever ad ploy, anything said in a British accent somehow becomes more valid and sophisticated to our ears. I could listen to Sir David Attenborugh read the dictionary lol. Anyways according to this article its an impression of a cockney accent. "
He says the Cockney Geico Gecko has helped vault Geico up the car insurance ranks and become an ad icon in the process. Unlike his starchy counterparts, this character is approachable and friendly, a bit like the cheeky Cockney chimneysweep played by Dick Van Dyke in "Mary Poppins."
But if these stereotypes sell, who's a Brit to complain? Britannia clearly rules the airwaves."
