A. cacatuoides is one of the few fish I wouldn't keep over black sand. Their bodies get too dark from what I've seen, lossing the pattern to become an overall dark gray. Might make thier fins stand out more, but I prefer the body pattern than a slight visual increase of their fins.
 
Being that Goes are generally a light colored fish, I feel the contrast against dark substate makes their color pop out more but lighter substate looks more natural, imo. Either way, you win.
