Not sure if I'll get it or not. I don't know if it will really fit in with either of my big tanks. Either it goes in with a bunch of gar, a datnoid, pike cichlid, and friedrichsthalli, or it goes with a pike cichlid community, festae, green terror, with motoro and dragon goby.

I agree - in that case it's probably a good idea not to get it...

I think I already have a juvenile balzani, but he's only about 3.5-4", so its not a big deal. But tossing an 8" fish into either of these tanks would cause some excitement, I'm sure.

it doesn't have a hump, but there's no such thing as a 8' female balzanii.....as far as I know

thats a gorgeous balzani, i got one that is about 4 in or so....love these guys.

Tell her you found it swimming in one of the local ponds and you have no idea what it is and proceed to research your new find on the internet typing in every fish name but the balzani and just end up being stumped not knowing what it is but hey its cute though.
