I would trade/sell it if I were you. The tank substrate is completely inappropriate for substrate-sifting fish, you're going to have to perform gravel-ectomies eventually.
:iagree: The 29g will work for a bit but you will need a larger tank once it gets bigger and you'll need a fine substrate so it can sift it.

Ah, I think I see where it's supposed to be ed ... had to enlarge the pic quite a bit. Guess it's faded due to stress of the new tank.

Thanks for the advice.

I'll just take the Geo back to the LFS where they can put it back in the tank with no substrate and sell it to a kid with a fish bowl.

BTW, In addition to your misidentification, this is the original tank the Geo has been in for the past 5 months where it eats like a horse and has grown at about the same rate. The monster Midas doing the stressing is 2.5". You should be very familiar with that length.

I need the "block smartass" feature. :irked:

Idiocy doesn't exist if I can't see it. :duh:

Cute. How can I have a misidentification when I never identified it? I asked a question to clarify the indentication from ed, who is better at Geophagus id's ...

Yes I assumed it was new, but I don't think it's an assumption to think a fish not showing it's normal coloration as being stressed. Assuming it was new was giving you the benefit of the doubt I guess, I'll try not to be so nice in the furture.

And try sorting out the posts you've read, I never said to bring it back.

I was about to say.. ha ha. OP needs to open mouth and insert foot... but I think he already did that. The person that said he should sell/trade was not Darth
