I have nothing but Geos, Gymno, Mykrogeos, etc....(Oh and Loaches everywhere)
I have currently in my 75 a nice group of Geophagus sp. "Nieva" (Steiney Location Variant, I assume) and my "Nieva have produced like, porn stars, now, the aggression in this group is starting to get a lil hairy (2M 4F) and I have a nice 220 (soon to be 125) with Geophagus albios, Geophagus sp. "Tapajos Orange Heads" and Geophagus cf. altifrons "Rio Tocantins". They get along great, but was thinking about swaping out the "Nieva" into the 220 for the Orange Heads.
Stock List in 75:
6x-Geophagus sp. "Nieva"
1x-Gymnogeophagus Balzani (Large Male 5")
and making it something like SusieQ has but with a twist
5x-Geophagus sp. "Tapajos Orange Head"
1x-Gymnogeophagus Balzani (Large Male 5")
and
4x-Mykrogeophagus altispinosus (From their own tank)
This allows me to spread out the aggression of the Nieva (I have more fry then you can shake a stick at, don't need any more) males into the 220 and the Albios are bigger (4-5" is the biggest, 3-4" is the smallest) and the Greens have already spent time with the "Nieva" already, so I know that is no issue. Plus this will also allow me to highlight the "Centerpiece Fish" being my Orange Heads, Balzani, and the Rams. Now it has worked well for susie, so why not?
Thoughts?
