Geophagus brachybranchus spawn

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
They really turned out to be lookers! Congrats and good luck with the fry :) Should be easy as long as they don't eat the wigglers. Might want to strip them to be safe....the K. xinguensis spawned twice more after the first time and both times they ate the wigglers :(

I haven't checked on them today. I'm almost afraid to; I have this fear they've eaten the wrigglers. I have really good luck with wild fish getting it right the first time, so maybe we'll get lucky!

They're both still chewing away! :headbang2

Then I checked my 150g to find two pairs of Krobia guianensis with free-swimmers, and my Acaronia nassa with their tubes down for the first time! :headbang2 x 2

Nice, love is in the air or maybe the water...

The male ate his wrigglers on the second day. He started beating up the female, so I removed him and left her alone in the tank. She held for several more days, then I noticed her mouth wasn't as full as it had been. I'm not sure if she accidentally ate some, or maybe she did it on purpose because it was too many to handle, but I decided to strip her last night. I only ended up with maybe 20 fry. They're in a net breeder right now and I'm attempting to get them eating.

just read the comments above.

what i did was to harvest the fries from the brooder's mouth between day 8-10.. where most of the fries are already free-swimming and egg sac free :)
