Ganster, they love the drip and are growing faster then the others from the same batch so its worth it on a grow out tank.

Thanks guys. Tor I posted a thread for more pics of the leuco's in this tank if you want to see more pics.

Care to share pics of your previous one with issues? I disagree they are deformed. The mouth do not always protrude like that (if that's what your referring to). The males do that in front of the females like they are showing off how well they can brood or something. Its interesting behavior.

I have had s. mapiritensis do this in the past as well before they spawned. Would love to see pics for comparison if you have any. There are so few of them we need all the pics and info we can on them into the hobby. (good or bad)

I asked above if you would comment further or provide pics? I typically don't drop a hey your fish are deformed comment in someones thread without the courtesy to follow up. These guys are very uncommon so if you really think they are deformed a follow up would be greatly appreciated.. we need to get as much info as possible on this species out to the hobby with them being rare.

Sorry no pics of mine I had them when rapps had them about 10 years ago, What I remember they had missing or deformed rays in their anal and dorsal fins, the pics of yours seemed that some had deformed heads/mouth as in wierd placement in the males, maybe it's the pics? Look at other pics of carnassial runs on the internet, I believe the fish in the hobby are from a collecting trip 10+ years ago.....anybody up for a collecting trip to panama next year to introduce new blood?
