These came in as Geo Altifrons. The lfs agreed that the batched was mixed. I just grabbed the 3 spotted tails and one of the other. Quick bad pics. I will get better pics and collection point details tomorrow. Do what you can for now thanks.

pic 1 & 2 at the top of the tank is 100% Satanoperca daemon, the other 3 look like Geophagus abalios to me. Large midlateral spot and bisect lateral barring in pics 3 & 4.

I feared they would be abalios. Sorry I am a noob but, does abalios have fully spotted tail? If you look at the first and last pic of the far right fish tail you can see it's fully spotted.

I have to agree with justin on this one, looks like Abalios to me.. I have 2 Abalios and they look just like my Altifrons they just have the spot on their side.. They look good though.

When young G. abalios have a blended tail that turns more into lines as the fish matures (4"-5"+) That's why I was going off of the midlateral spot size and the bisect barring. I could be wrong though though David. I'm by no means an expert. Just taking a stab at it for a friend.

They look great though bro. Even if they are G. abalios, those are an awesome species as well. Loads of personality.

Well I'll be the first to say looks like I was wrong. Those shots are better and they to look G. altifrons. That bisect barring really throws me off though. It was the same thing with the one I sold you.

I've been so bent on getting altifrons. But you know what I really like these guys. The other 3 at shop I think are abalios but he thinks proxysomething. I'm hoping for someone to have identical geos to mine and maybe they have a positive ID on there's. Thanks Justin for taking a stab at it. The one from you is still my favorite. Only thing is I can't get them to eat pellets only bloodworms. Won't even touch chopped up fish.
