Probably about 2 inches at most. The single is only about an inch. They have more coloration, just were new to the tank when I took the vids. The single has like brown stripes all over and the pair has blue iridescent lines and a red striped tail.

They look exactly like this picture when their colors are bright. Note that this is not my picture, but fish that look pretty much identical to the pair I have.

I hope they're Geophagus tapajos orangeheads though...those guys look nice when they're adults!

The one in the picture has a dotted pattern on its tail....

the pair looks like surinamensis
the loneone out is a balzani

The pair was sold to me as surinamensis by my buddy who runs a shop also. I'm pretty confident with him, although the breeders tend to mislabel stuff and he can't be on top of everything all the time. The single guy is the one I'm mostly concerned with, just so I know what his size will end up like. I have some bichirs and catfish with these guys, and I want to make sure these new guys get at least 5-6 inches long, ect...

The pair does have spotted tails, also. They look like a light red color, with almost white spots and maybe a couple light stripes right in the center (in line with their spine). They're new to a tank with some fish over a foot long, so they aren't too colorful right now. Still in the "shy" phase so they're not that bright.

Thanks for all the replies so far. We'll figure it out for sure soon enough! Haha...

Have fun!

Now that I look closer at the pair, they for sure can't be orange heads. They don't have the orange head's tail pattern at all.

Iridescent blue stripes on their body, and a red tail with white spots on it.
