I was told by one of my LFS that he has some geophagus surinamensis and he sent me a picture so I was wondering if that is what they are?

Looks abalios but cant make out the caudal fin pattern so I'm not certain. I'm 99% sure they are not surinamensis, unless the are they WC and have the collection location. True surinamensis are very rare to come by. Ask the guy if you can get some close pics of the geos.

Thanks man. I'll ask him for some more pics. Would $10 for a 3" Abalios be good? I can't seem to find them for sale anywhere to compare prices...

At that size they're going to just call anything that looks like that 'surinemensis type.' Because they pretty much all look the same. Unless they bred them or know exactly where they came from you're not going to figure it out easily.

3" for $10 is a great price, I'd buy them all.

How many do you think would work in a 150?

I know I'm supposed to wait 24 hours, but I plan on getting them this weekend so I would like to know...

Wait 24 hours for what? How many do you have now, and how many are left? what other occupants are going to be in the tank? I wouldn't put any in w/a dovii pair and fry..
