They are way too young and way too stressed to ID. Get them in a display tank and grown up a little bit and then take some pics with decent lighting.

By the way, most of the unidentified Geos that come in are altifrons. Until you have some decent pics that say otherwise that's what I am going with.

That's pretty much what I figured.....I'll just give them some time to tell.......IMO I'm still leaning towards surinamensis but only time will tell.........

i would be extremely surprised if they were the true surinamensis... its hella rare in the US. In Aus all the "surinamensis" are either a common sp. altifrons or more commonly Brachybranchus.

In the US i beleive 99% of geo's sold under the name "surinamensis" are a sp. of altifrons and sometimes Geophagus dicrozoster.

Only time will tell what these are, an inch long is too small for a positive ID.

Definately take a good picture every month and post up in 6 months time

alot of geos in the hobby are abalios too, i also say probably wont be suris and agree with the most recent posts.
grow them up and ask again later.
