well im restocking my 150g and ive narrowed my options. Id like a geophagus comm tank with some discus or a frontosa colony. which would you guys go with? any input or advice is welcomed.

That's a tough call. Both would be awesome. You probably be able to keep a little bit more of a variety of species in the Geo. community, but you could have some other smaller cichlids and synos with the fronts as well

yeah ive been doin my research on both species lately and simply cannot decide. both species are beautiful and the tank setups are awesome. ive seen both angels and discus with geos so that will ad some nice color. also ive read about haps and culvus with frontosa which will be a nice tank. totally undecided!

I've kept goes and they make for a really active interesting tank. I've never kept frontosa but have heard that their behavior is kind of boring. Maybe your best bet is to watch a bunch of videos and then determine which set-up is more interesting to you.

I've kept colonies of fronts and also geos (jurupari, tapajos, steins) and the geos are much more active and fun to watch.

fronts are gorgeous, but they are kind of lazy and shy when they get bigger IME.

thanks for the input guys. i agree that fronts are gorgeous but i do like the setup of the geos tank better.. its more natural. any other opinions, tips or ideas?

fronts :)
