Hey bro, whats your experience in keeping steindacheri and heckelii?

I love my heckalii. Some people have mentioned that they can be aggressive but I have never found that. I have 2 7inch heckalii that live happily with various geos including steindachneri. Now these guys are a mixed bag. I had to get rid of my 6 inch male as he was far too aggressive for any of my fish and currently have a 4 inch male with 2 4 inch females. Males seem constantly interested in breeding and spend most of their time courting the girls. He does chase the occational fish but mostly if the get too close to his two girls. On a whole he is much less aggressive than the previous male but I think the trick is to make sure they are alot smaller than their tank mates ( mine is 4 inch with 8 inch tankmates). Also it is only the males that display any aggression, the girls are much more docile. Great fish but need to be watched. Hope this helps :)

I've gotten several fish from him and the quality is outstanding IMO. My biggest male tapajos from him is stunning, so are my brokopondos and krobia. Great guy.

Saw the pics you posted looks awesome! Yea he helped me a lot when I was looking into geos. Hope he gets back on soon...hope he still has some. Haven't heard much from him on here as well as on his youtube channel. Maybe he's on vacation lol

Great Pics once again! Merry Christmas

Most of the true Geophagus Spp. should be fine, but IMO for the sake of creating an interesting tank I'd go for a group of something different looking like S. leucosticta (or another Satanoperca), and just keep a good size group of each rather than a random jumble of several different species.

ps. I hope the 142g has a good footprint on it if you're planning on keeping a bunch of eartheaters, if it is a tall narrow tank as opposed to low and wide it will reduce the number of eartheaters you can keep in there.

So Braselensis are aggressive? My LFS got them in last week was thing
Of getting a bunch for my 220 since
They are $3 a pop
