Jeff Rapps breeds a pair of wild geo red heads and sells the F1 babies at 1.5" for $7.50 each or $6.50 each for more than 6.

The local prices I see around here are high at $20-30 each in the 1.5-2" size. They are slow growing, so that plays a factor in their price. However, a 4" would be at most 7-8 months old I would think, so still not worth $90 each! Even reasonably priced breeding pairs don't sell for more than $75 for both adults. Whoever is asking $90 each has lost their minds.

Half the fun of Geo. Red Heads is watching them grow from a 2" bland little minnow to an absolute stunning fish.

I say that as I just got a handful of Rapp's Red Heads in and my entire tank is young (all fish 2-4" give or take) and I just can't wait for them to mature...I'm like a kid at Christmas!

Awesome! I am about to order 8 of them from Rapps as well. :)

Can't wait! It will be like a better version of Christmas! Hahaha!
