Geophagus salt sensitive?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I was using salt and Malachite green when I was young. But never had good results.
Now I use Esha Exit and 2000. I didn't lost fish to ich since I switched to Esha products.
They are cheap.

Yeah, I have one of the returns from the sump poked out of the water and down so it has got some large bubbles and surface agitation going as well as an air stone. Temp is holding at 86.7, they seem to be doing fine. Going to do a 25% water change today and add some more salt back.

If high temp fixes it, salt is optional (shortens the treatment period maybe but otherwise has little effect). If it's a resistant type of ick, salt won't help. Not sure if you need to bother with it but it shouldn't hurt your Geos.
