I used to have a breeding pair of oscars, theyre great fish but I disliked being unable to keep anything with them, My two were quite aggressive, in the end they learned to accept a Lima shovelnose. this was a long time ago though
Thats a caquetaia Spectabilis, a smaller growing umbie relative. It has a "basket mouth" that projects out much like Petenia Splendida. My guess would be convergent evolution.
I am a fan of larger peaceful fish, and the C. Spectabilis will absolutely swallow anything he can, but he never harasses anyone.
I've tried geos before and they really don't seem to like my hard water.
FYI the Brasiliensis isn't really a true geo and will most likely be moved into its own or another genus soon enough.
