Geophagus sp.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'm curious about the lack of plants. I realize the silver dollars would eat them but wouldn't the geo appreciate some plants on the parameters (if you did not have silver dollars) ?
I tried plants, SD happens. I'm not willing/ready to give up the SDs either.

I have been offered a breeding pair of Redhead Tapajo, what chance do I have of being able to add them to my 220g where I have 3 already? I have the 120g but I would have to remove the gravel and add sand.

New redheads look to be holding. They keep their mouths tite shut but are chewing.

Huge thank you to Dave62 Dave62 for gifting me this lovely pair of geo's.

They’re living egg tumblers. Hopefully you’ll get some fry!
One is feeding the other isn't which I hope means she's holding. Must have been some tussling as the one not feeding is missing some dorsal fin between rays.

I thought that I had removed all the G. Brasiliensis juvie's from the pond but I found 3 dead. They must have expired recently as they are just starting to grow the death slime. The free floating algae has died off too.PXL_20211111_165943057.jpg
