Thats awesome, congrats!! My dad just told me that one of my fish laid eggs in my tank at home, as I am at my right dorm now. I have a pair of jurupari in that tank and I think it was them. He said some of the eggs were eaten and some got lost to the filter, but I hope to go back home tomorrow and see if I can just check them out. It is the first time for her to lay eggs, so Im excited. If I could get them to spawn that would be awesome.

If you use tumblers with anything other than mouthbrooders it is a waste of time. A lot of work for fish that otherwise wouldn't need it.

Have you had bad luck tumbling substrate spawning eggs, or just don't see the point?

Both, I have never had a good success rate with tumblers. 50% tops. With other artificial raising methods I can acheive 90-95% on a good spawn (that's before culling of course).

By other artificial raising what do you mean? Seperate tank with methylblue, bubbler and heater?

Yesterday I took a few fry to the local fish club bi-annual auction. I sold two bags of 5 fish each for $5 a bag. Not bad for half inch sized fry.
