I picked up some labeled Juripari, but I believe they are Leucosticta. Still looking for some Altifrons.

The Jurupari will have two brown stripes from the mouth to the eye and more on the forehead. Leuc will only have the stripes on the forehead and more speckles on the cheeks than jurupari.

I asked the lfs that I got them from and they said three would be fine in a 30 long for life. I kind of figured it could work, would it? All that is in there is a clown pleco with them. 2f 1m. If need be the male can be in there by himself if there is issues....

Lindsey

Sounds fine to me Lindsey,:) but always the bigger the better. If they ever pair up then the other female will need to be removed.

Mine is about 5", and is a total character... he is really fun to watch... almost goofy looking lol....

Burt :)

Nice Burt, wait til the hump gets larger. It looks like a knot from a cartoon!

Jamie

Thanks Jamie :) I will post pics of my 2.5" geos when I find my camera.......

Red Humps can attain a maximum size of 10".

Here are some pictures of my young male. He was at least 7" to 8" when I gave him away.

Jamie, I knew about the more spotting on the cheeks, that is why I was leaning towards Leucs. But I did not know about the different striping differences, will have to take a look to maybe verify which I have.

Polomax, I did not know that they got that large pretty much everything I read said 5-6" or 13-14cm.
Although fishbase does say 19.8 cm, which is roughly 8-9".
Did he get aggro? Is that why he is in a divided area? I think everything you touch gets huge. HaHa

No, he wasn't aggressive. He was trying to breed with my female festae! :screwy: I didn't want any hybrid fry's. Yes, they do get pretty big. A member at WW has a 10 incher.
