Geos with sevs in 120 gallon tank ???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hi there.. Great feedback.. guess the combo is more done than I thought.. Would love to see your full tank shots so I can see if I'm heading in the right direction. HInt Hint Hint :D:D:D.
Jamie love the videos what all do you have in that tank.. how big are the sevs and what kind of frog is that?

Craggy how many geos do you have in the combo and what temp is the tank so its ok for the cories?? I've got mine at 81/82 and thought only the sterbai would be ok in that??

Titansfever Jamie do the yoyo loaches hide alot? Can I mix them with bns?
How many geos should I get and can I mix 2 types such as redheads and stenis or abalios or altifrons in my size tank??

Japes for some reason I can't get your photos to come out.. Would love to see a full tank shot..

All of you.. I forgot to ask.. On one side of the tank I experimented and have some ecocomplete soil under the pool filter sand.. or should I say thanks to the sevs.. mixed with the sand.. will that bother the geos???
Also do any of you have live plants in your geo/sev tanks??

Thanks again for all the help. I have an email to Rapps but I have a feeling the shipping out here is gonna be killer.. but really think I want the Tapajos and don't think I'm gonna find them anywhere around here. I'm in Ga about 1 1/2 hours North of Atlanta is anyone knows anyone local with them that might have a few to ship.

Sorry for the long post.. I really appreciate all the feedback. Sue:D:D:D:D:D

Older, but you can see the Severum.

Thanks Japes... Beautiful fish and tank setup. I even think I see something live and green in there LOL.
Really like the branchy look... what kind of wood is that?? Manzanita??? It's really hard for me to find anything that branchy.. do you have a good source or just lucky at finding it??? I was tempted to try some of the dead branches from the oak trees etc on our property but am not sure even with soaking in boiling water they would work. I'm afraid they might breakdown too quickly in the tank.. The driftwood I currently have is mostly thicker pieces.
I was using a blue background (blue insulationpanels from the Home Depot) for the discus to keep them warm and to prevent the pigeon bloods from showing their peppering spots, but maybe now I will paint the back sides of the sheets black and try that. It really makes your fish POP.
Thanks again for the tank shot and info. Sue:D:D:D

Some of it's Mangrove root, I'm not sure about some other stuff. All bought, very selectively.]

Here's an up to date shot, terrible photo but yeah.

No more green, they're back in the planted tank to grow out a little more, after the rearrange I couldn't get them to root properly in the substrate and they kept getting dug up.

Hi there...
Thanks Japes for the new photos.. looks good. I did the oak leaves for awhile with my 29 gallon tank and the fish loved it.. however my husband didnot and it's "his tank". Sooooo might try it again in the big tank tho..
Any idea about the eco complete and geos??? I really don't know how I would get it out of there except with a complete redo and in 120 gallons I'm not up for that right now. I am however going to do a redo on some of the driftwood.
Mangrove root huh.. looks great maybe I can find some.. Use to live in the Fla Keys and there was plenty around but never thought about using it.. oh well. Thanks again for the feedback. Sue:D:D:D
