German Blue Rams

I tried four in a 55g, dominant male harassed every one, plenty of cover. Took two and put in a 25g planted, preceded to spawn weekly but eggs never hatched. Due to stress on the female, both from the male and breeding so much, I put the male back in the 55g. I'm down to two, and I've had lots of rams before and ime German blues are not very hardy and have short lifespans and seem to suddenly die from nothing. Bolivians are much tougher IMO.

People I've talked to have also told me I may have some problems with my giant danios, is this true? I know they tend to take most of the food at first, they're really hyper as well, with the Blue Ram being so calm would this be a bad mix?

Should I get a floating plant to block some of the light? and for a possible hiding spot if they do decide to leave the bottom of the tank.
