Breeding rams crossed my mind, maybe if I really couldn't breed cons in a 10g. But is it really easy to breed rams? I want something easy to breed, and that breeds readily, because I'm not very experienced at breeding fish.

EDIT: Oh yeah, if there are any other cichlids that will breed readily in a 10g, I'll take suggestions.

german blue rams are not the easiest fish to breed and a 10 gal is kinda small. im not sure of a dwarf cichlid that would easily breed in that size tank. maybe african shelldwellers?

Hmmm. If there are no cichlids that will spawn in a 10 gal, what else would breed? I just need some interesting fish for my 10 gal, I don't like it empty.

Actually, GBR's are pretty easy to breed, and they do work in a 10G. But here's where the problem is, keeping the babies alive. As long as you have a male and female, more than likely, they will pair off and will start laying eggs. But keeping the fry alive, that's another story.

If your after some interesting fish that are easy to breed in a small tank then I suggest some Egyptian Mouth Brooders - Pseudocrenilabrus multicolor. Alternatively you could try something slightly harder like some African shell dwellers. Neolamprologus multifasciatus is a good example although there are several species.

Not sure if this was mentioned before, but if your water quality is good and soft and below 7.0 pH, you could try some Apistograma sp. (don't hold me to that spelling)

Then you must be a bad breeder.......There fairly easy you have to have soft water and a semi planted tanl to fully planted.

I have Neolamprologus multifasciatus i have them in a 32G...so tons of room for them but yeah they are really interesting.....i would advise NE one to get them and yeah EZ breeders... i had to wait for 9 mo for mine to mature...but it was worth it...started with 6....now 50+...
they are a wicked colony fish and they are vry teritorial
