Anyone know a reputable breeder or breed them yourselves.

I'll be moving into a real house with a yard in the next few months and I've wanted one since I was a little girl.

I would get a pound dog, but I have a new baby and want to raise a puppy with him instead of an adult dog.
And you dont know what puppies from the humane society could turn out to be. (size wise and temperment that is)

My parents have had 3 since I have been alive. They usually find local breeders that are reputable. Usually anything U.K.C. registered is safe. Just be careful of their hips as big dogs especially shepards are known for having hip displaysia. Our last two had it and they both had to be put down sadly...:(

I know. I cant get over their good looks. ;)

And if anyone knows of someone. I'm all ears.

I have an all black one now his name is zeus. I went looking for a ALBINO ( not white) one a year or so ago and I contacted a few breeders about one and they all basically came back with the same response.

They had never seen or heard or a true albino (yes white but not pink eyes) and they thought that If one was breed that it would have alot of health problems due to poor genes.

Now back to the topic at hand. Where I found these breeders name was in a mag called dog fancy Its very good loots of breeders and its set up by breed not just random. So pick one of those up and you should have no problem getting a good breeder

thanks

www.puppyfind.com lists via breed, you can search local via state or even nationwide/international if you want to ship one in.

I think Johnptc has GS's although his might be balla quality and pricey to alot of us? lol

I love German Shepherds..

We have two, Zeus and Zelda...

Here is a pic. We just got them from local breeders through the puppyfind.

Very pretty ;)

many of the more expensive breeders have hip, temperment guarantee's and have traced bloodlines to ensure no or limited "interbreeding". my next gsd will be bought for top dollar(pet quality, not show-show is crazy expensive) to ensure the best dog possible. i cant go through loosing another beloved gsd to an unknown problem that came on in a matter of days.

now im deffinetely not a dog "conniseur",or even have my facts right, but i firmly belive you get what you pay for, whithin reason.

another option you can get through some breeders is fully trained puppies. this will be the route i will go next time, its too hard, for me atleast, to try and train a puppy, with 2 small kids, 2 cats, and another dog running around.

a.k.c. doesnt mean anything, other than someone took the time to fill out some papers, to sell their "purebreed" dog for more money imo. we did buy a akc mini schnauzer and pay the money to get our certificate, but its the same dog even if we didnt.
