a.k.c. doesnt mean anything, other than someone took the time to fill out some papers, to sell their "purebreed" dog for more money imo. we did buy a akc mini schnauzer and pay the money to get our certificate, but its the same dog even if we didnt.

:iagree::iagree::iagree:

The quality and reputation of the breeder should be at the top of the list when selecting a family pet....

Anyone know a reputable breeder or breed them yourselves.

I'll be moving into a real house with a yard in the next few months and I've wanted one since I was a little girl.

I would get a pound dog, but I have a new baby and want to raise a puppy with him instead of an adult dog.
And you dont know what puppies from the humane society could turn out to be. (size wise and temperment that is)

try the west los angeles german shepherd rescue.........

the last one we got was 8 weeks old is is a super dog !!!

or a gsd rescue near you.......i agree get a pup7 weeks old is ideal........

we have have/had 5 mostly gsd's and love em

pics please when you find a pup !!!

:):):):):)

if you go breeder.. please look into a german bloodline dog..........

eg http://leerburg.com/

akc is only about looks........:(:(:(:(

the german bloodline dogs are all about stable temperament and ability

to be registered both parents must have come from registered parents

then both parents must achieve certain rankings in dog trials ( performance ) and be certified healthy to breed by a vet........... then the pups can be registered.

i have wanted a leerburg puppy for quite awhile.........just be sure to tell him you want a calm low drive dog for a family pet.... i recommend a female........my 2 cents

After over 30 years of breeding German Shepherd Dogs, we are taking a break from breeding. We won’t be offering any German Shepherd litters in 2007 and have no plans in place for 2008 at this time. Check the website often for updates and the status of our planned litters for the future.

We will continue to have one or two carefully planned Kaiserhaus Malinois litters each year, with our next litter planned for early 2008. Visit http://kaiserhaus.com for information on our Malinois.

If you have any questions or comments, please email Cindy at cindyr@leerburg.com.

My family has always had nothing but German Shepherds since I was a kid, The day I moved out on my own I started looking for my very own. He is about 10 years old and has been a joy to have I would never consider any other type of dog. Good luck finding one

Here is my Zeus he's about 4 (she had him when I moved in so I'm not sure exactly on his age either 3 or 4) he's Huge about 125lbs. He just recently scared the hell out of the cable guy. lol I love that dog lol
