It is a good idea to allow him to "win" his aggressive standoffs if you want him to remain confident and stimulate breeding behaviour. He will display better both behaviourly and colourwise too.

we do let him win... he is a winner,who is going to make this guy lose.. we hurry up and we are out of his house.. :D
 
my jags just ignore me most of the time, sometimes I can get the male to the front of by tapping the water where I normally feed him. Other than that it's usually the convicts and oscar that go after the gravel vac, I think they think the stuff going up the siphon is food cuz they follow the specs up the tube trying to bite them through the plastic.
