Yeah I might give it a shot and try growing them out together. The O is about 3.5", so I could get a jag around an inch or so smaller and give it a shot. Would having minimal decor to claim territories and fight over work to keep agression down I wonder? Or would it make it worse? I guess I'll just have to try it with plenty of dithers and find out. If it doesn't work I can rehome one
of them
I think even WC Jags likeI had 2 female jags 12-13" and a 12" albino tiger Oscar in a 240g a few years back and they were totally fine they just weren't bothered by each other, there even used to intermingle, not as if they were avoiding each other at all, they were all together from a tiny size though, and I guess that made a difference, personally I have always found jags aggression to be overrated as all the ones I've had have been very very laid back, but then again all mine have been tank bred for for at least 3 generations, and I think this may take a lot of the aggression away from them, guess a lot of your problems would come down to what sort of personalitys your O and jag have if they both chilled I would say it will work.
one of my personal favorites for a number of reasons, one of which is they tend to work in ANY tank set-up I have ever done. JDs are very under-rated in this hobby. Love 'em so much I recently went and got exactly what I had before back in 2008-2012......1 male, 6 femalesJack dempsey is a possibility. Pretty tough fish, but usually not crazy aggressive. Good luck I have an 8' 320+ gallon tank and my jag has claimed nearly half of it.
