Alright so i've had him for about 2 days now and i'm still trying to get him to eat. He seems uninterested in food, i tried soaking his food in Garlic and i even bought some of the stuff they used at the store to feed him but nothing works  am i just getting jumpy? is it going to take him a bit to get used to his tank?

I want to get him onto the Hikari Food Sticks rather than the freeze dried shrimp they were feeding him.

thanks for your help

You've not mentioned the size of your Aro. That's an important piece of information.

My 6" silver still does not eat prepared foods (sticks etc). I have some luck with Freeze Dried Blood Worms. However, he goes bananas for (fresh) shrimp.

I clean/de-shell the shrimp and cut it to about 3/4 inch pieces. Then I put a thread through it and hang it it about 2-3 inches above the water.

The aro take a couple of "recon" passes under the "target" and then jumps and gulps it down.. :)

PS: I am not an expert.. Just my $0.02

Sometimes fish need to get used to their new tank. I got a new 6-7in arowana about a month ago. He did not eat for like 2-3 days, so i gave him a few of feeders and he loved them. After a week i traind him to eat shrimp, and now he is eating floting pellets. :) Good Luck

your aro prob still stressed just getting used to the tank

Try live night crawlers it worked for me. Better off feeding it live than have it die on you. Fatten him up a bit first than you can make the switch to pellets

feed him some worms hold them up above so u lessen the chance of droop eye and pics please

already posted pics see "My New Black!" in the media lounge, there's even a crappy video! I think i'm going to get some cardinal tetras because if he doesnt eat them i'll keep them anyways lol
