The red eclectus are stunning. They look painted saw them at jungle island "parrot jungle".

One of the prettiest birds there.

yeah the red ones are the females and the green are the males, they truly are gorgeous birds (and quiet too:naughty:) i swear though my friend has 2 african greys and when i take my green-cheek there she is the only frikin one you hear LOL, they are all making cutesy noises and talking and whistling while she screeches away with her high pitch call:nilly: but yeah eclectus are what got me into loving parrots in the first place so i will def have one eventually (broke college student atm:irked:)

is there such thing as a quiet macaw? lol, not that I know of. She is very loud when she wants to be but she does not scream much, I am working on stopping it all together though. She was a rehomed bird and she came with a TINY cage so I am looking for a bigger one but for the most part, she is out and about.
I promise I will have better pics by tomorrow but here is one to hold you over until then:

AWWWWW, and yes its always sad when you re-home birds that have been in tiny cage, once she is in bigger home she should quiet down as well, n yeah if i ever found a quiet macaw i would def take it home immediately LOL, one of my friend's congo african greys was a rescue and was kept in a cage the size of my green-cheek's travel cage!!! (size i wouldn't put anything bigger than a cockatiel in long term) and was fed all kinds of fattening human foods on a regular basis, but shes good and healthy now (though still a bit mean from not being socialized properly) and she still has a soft spot for the occasional fry lol she loves ANYONE who will give her a fry:nilly:

Great looking Macaw. Is she okay with you considering your new to her?

"is there such thing as a quiet macaw"

lol thats true there are few parrot keepers in the area and the Macaws and the Cockatoos call to each other from yard to yard and its loud lol but I love it.
I dont know if the cages are wheeled outside during warm days or some might be in avairys as can only see one macaw pair when I drive down the road but few keep them.

Not knowing much about Macaws I thought the small macaw (mini me type) was quite and just assumed yours that type till saw pic.
To bad you don't live in areas the more Macaws the better lol .

lol didn't know same bird thought two different types of eclectus . Both pretty but the red females we saw were stunning.

They were called Solomon Island eclectus . Imagine one type eclectus. .
