Getting a new poly!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Doesn't really matter anyways. I don't think I am going to try anything with him since he is pretty big. I am working on a bigger tank for him...I was actually thinking about trying him out with my pickerel  . IDK the thought kinda scares me.

the temperature difference is the only reason i see why it might not work. a 10" pickerel should get along with a 18" ornate.

The temp in the pickerel tank stays at a constant 75...I am just worried about waking up one morning and finding the pickerel as a snack...

i wouldn't worry too much about that. its true bichir can get some large prey, but i wouldn't really worry about your pickerel as long as you don't starve your ornate.

Yea I am really excited. I get to go get him later this evening. And of course pictures will follow. So I was thinking about trying something different like a needlenose or something different. Anybody keep anything crazy with theirs?

Chad

I think I am going to do it! But I think I will wait until I get him eating again....He won't take anything and I can't find the pellets that john told me to feed him :( .

hmm, well goodluck with him. just to make you feel better about the combo, i've kept my 6" senegal with a 2" leopard ctenopoma, 3-4" nandus nandus, 3x 3" yoyo loaches and even a few red eye tetras no bigger then 2".

i'm sure if i starved him he'd take out the tetras and eventually the cten, but hasn't happened in close to a month of having them together.

why dont u try black ghost knife, they are intresting to watch and goes well wth bichir. I keep my 5 orantes wth 5 BGK, but dont get too small though or they might end up as snack :WHOA:
