O.K. I've always kept aquariums, but they've always been 20s or 30s. I've not had an aquarium in about 3 years. When I dive in, I guess I go head first. I've aquired a 210 gallon aquarium with the dimensions of 2' X 2' X 7'. The stand was in horrible shape so I rebuilt a stand, this one standing 39" putting the top of the aquarium at 5'3" when set up.

Man I didn't know the importance of level vs. that's good enough. After resealing the aquarium, I filled it but it wasn't quite level. 4 hours later when I walked out I saw the center plate had pulled free and was hanging in the aquarium.........Even I know that ain't good, so I pumped the thing out and when I get some more Aquarium Silicone, have to reset the center plate and reseal the top.

I also got a Fluval FX5. Hopefully I'll have this thing ginning before too much longer.

I do have a question...... Where can one buy live peacock bass and how much do they usually run for some 5 to 7 inch fish?

you can most always order them from your lfs, though im not sure they'll have 5-7"ers. depending on the species they can be pretty cheap. around here, a 2-3" mono costs $20. id guess that you'd be charged around $50-$60 for a 5-7" mono. check your lfs's order list and let me know how it goes for you

Ifs????? I'm sorry I should have mentioned, I always had natural local fish I kept......I've become facinated by the Butterfly Peacock by fishing for them in Miami.

O.K. here are some pics of my newest project.......

This was the night I brought the project home.....The stand had been sitting on an earthen floor in a barn for 3 years and was in terrible shape on the bottom. The aquarium was a leaker so I had to cut away old silicone away, clean it and reseal......

There I am at work cutting away silicone.

Here it is after cutting away silicone.

As you can see, the whole back of the original stand was shot.......We rebuilt a new stand, even taller....The new stand is 39 inches tall putting the top of the aquarium at 5' 3" when I assemble it.

There's the new stand before I stained it.

And this is the Can Filter I hope can keep up with a couple of Butterfly Peacock Bass in the 210 gallon aquarium.

peacock bass aren't native lol. I assume they grow very quickly, so I think it would be easiest and a lot cheaper to buy smaller ones.

Tyler,

I do have some, but they are on the home computer and I won't be home for another week. I'll send some PM to you then.

What I call native is......Did I catch them on a rod and reel? When I'm in Miami I do so that's native enough for me......
