What I call native is......Did I catch them on a rod and reel? When I'm in Miami I do so that's native enough for me......

there actually an invasive species, but whatever floats your boat, works fine for me :)

if your going to get back into the hobby, theres only one way to do that, and thats MONSTER.

keep us updated. we're suckers for new tanks and pics around here

IKeepPacu....Thanks man! Yeah I know, they are introduced.....I shouldn't say Natural, I should say captured living trophies. Some people want to put a 7 to 10 lb on the wall, I'd rather watch a 2 lb fish swimming around in a tank.

noonein2.... My plan is to have it leak tested by Jan 29 and moving it to the stand in the house, filling and filtering then. On Feb 1 I will put in about a half dozen small bream to swim around and establish bacteria. In March I plan to introduce a Largemouth bass that will in all likelyhood eat the bream. In May, I'm hoping to put two Butterfly Peacock Bass in there with the LMB.

O.K. a few hiccups aside, aquarium is filled and on it's leak test until Monday.......Hopefully I'll be bringing it in to it's stand then! Had to reset the centerplate twice....holding fine now!!!!

Nice new tank! Why don't you fish for your new P-bass? (no sarcasm intended)
I have a friend in FL that fishes the mangroves for oscar and P-bass.

I fish down there every year, that's why I'm trying to get this tank established. Last year my partner and I brought back four Peacocks, between 5 and 10 inches.......brought them to another friends tank, and they had Nitrite problems and 10 days later, all were lost. Tank was too small and didn't have time to get established with bacteria.....Hoping to have this one going good when I bring in the living trophies.
