Hey everyone,

I took a bit of a hiatus from keeping Cichlids for a couple of years while I was in undergrad and in grad school. Now that I'm gainfully employed, I'm looking to get back into the hobby and will be exploring options to buying another 75 gallon aquarium. I already know what I want in terms of equipment, and it will be close to the same set up that I had on my previous 75 gallon (Eheim classic canister x2, Eheim heater, etc.).

I previously owned a Trimac from Jeff Rapps which grew to close to 14-15 inchs, and am exploring the possibility of ordering another one, but I'm very intrigued by the proposition to have all male marbled Convicts from Jeff Rapps instead. My main reason stems from the constant interaction and general activity that a tank with marble Convicts presents. I'm looking for a general consensus on how many I can have in the tank, and if anyone else has any ideas of what I could stock that would provide for the same level of activity and entertainment as a couple male Convicts.

I did, and still do, love the Trimac that I received from Rapps in the past and still view that path as an attractive option as well.

Thanks for the feedback.

guess I am going to have rain on the parade. 14 inch fish has no place in a 75g, you want 180 to a 220 for that. depending on more than one or not, I would do the convicts, if looking for more than one or perhaps some Africans. JD pair do ok in a 75g also.

Marbled convicts would look awesome, if it was me I'd probably go with 3-4 males as long as I had a cave for each, and heavily planted.

Male convict tank? I don't know. You'd either need to have only 3 or 4 in there or 10 so they spread out the aggression. I couldn't keep one in a 55 in a pike and jack Dempsey haha
