Looking to jump back into hardscaped tanks and want some color. Would love to get back into veija but have been out of them for awhile. Looking for what I believe is now melanura. All of the vendors I remember for carrying good vieja are now no longer importing.

Can anyone point me in the direction of who is bringing in quality veija? Is wild or captive better for color potential?

Any good hybrids or colorful lines out there to consider as a single addition to a group?

Any and all advice is appreciated! Thanks!

My local LFS (non-big box store shop) stocks some nice Veija's. Dave has a few different ones he has in stock atm, and he ships nationwide. Here's a few links;

Formerly Veija

These Herichthys bocourti are really nice as well...

Looking forward to seeing what you decide!

Craig (Umbeeking) on Facebook collects wild Central American cichlids personally and seems to generally have a really nice collection of fish on him. I recently got some tomachichla asfraci and was great to work with him with all that. Really good dude with some really nice fish. Sounds like he did a lot of the collecting trips with Central of the americas owner back when they were in business.
