getting excited!!!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
3 fxs is quite a bit of filtration, i dont see how they wouldnt do the job...

as for fish you could definitely fit those fish in your tank. Just remember though, everything can be peaceful one day and then you add 1 fish and the tank could be a warzone. So just keep an eye on them when/if you do add them. My current stock is Argentea,Regani,Maculicauda silver dollars and red hooks and small dovii and i plan on adding some festae very soon.but like i said all it takes is that 1 fish to not tolerate another and all hell could break lose.

Agreed, they are mostly small at the mo and my red head boss is more of the laid back leader as it were..... That may change when another male reaches a similar size and challenges, i plan on adding the fish at the same size as what ever is the smallest fish at the time or around that size and in at least 2s i will have a spare 100 gallion once i moved them and a very nice lfs that will have any fish that dont get on will swop for simular fish and size so the manager told me the other day.... So you think i will beable to have all the fish that i posted?

I run 2- FX5s on a 125 and 2-FX5s on a custom 8ft 135. I would not consider your tank over filtered with 3 FX5s and would suggest that you consider adding additional filtration. The flow rate on the FX5 is amazing at the head, and quickly drops from there. The output is considered strong as compared to other canisters, but is not as directed as some powerheads.

My opinion is the FX5 is great. I love mine, as well as Hagens' support of the product. I think how well it filters depends on what media you use... it is very flexible, imo, in regards to the way you like to filter.

In addition to the sponges, I load mine up on bio, carbon, and these other rings (I forget the name) designed to catch large particles. I avoid the flat, circular pads, because imo, I think they get clogged quickly and affect the flow rate.

At any rate, my water is remarkably clear with the FX5 running, and suffered greatly when it was in need of repair. I'm an FX5 fan, myself.

That said, sounds like you have a nice setup, man! You SHOULD be excited!

I have most of the stock already, see 1st post. I will be getting the remainder except the fancy plecos. Hopfully i can get a group to order from Jeff raps

I personally wouldn't add the oscar on top of your stock. But the plecos definately! Then it seems all stocked and i imagine it'll look great! I have a Sunshine (L014) and a snowball (Can't remember the L#) plec in my 180. And they look really good!
