I recently got a 10'' plus Fire eel. He feeds really well on frozen market prawn and mussel-did this from day one. Getting thick as a result.

Though I'm pleased with this (especially as LFS said it was only eating bloodworms) it doesn't take other foods. I've tried earthworms and frozen fish and it shows no interest.

I would like to get it on other foods for variety, even pellets if possible. Could I starve it for a few days and then offer the new foods? Or just be content with how it's currently feeding? Any pointers would be appreciated thanks

yea they can survive a long time without eating, mine gets blood worm, market shrimps, and both dew worms and red worms. His size is 14 inches atm and as wide as 2 fingers :) time and patience.

Mine eats krill, market shrimp, and earthworms. I tried bloodworms, smelt and tilapia, it's a no go. I don't feed everyday due to bloat. Seems like his growing. His 24" now got him at 18"

pellet eating spineys in general are the exception not the rule ime.

Mine was only willing to change foods as he got bigger. Started with blood worms at less than 6 inches and at 24 plus now does market shrimp and the very rare feeder.
