I need a good camera for my fish, so im looking around the internet, and i have found a bunch which caught my eye. at first i wanted the 10 megapixel camera's but the ones i can afford look very cheap. now i stumbled across a Kodak P880, and im liking what i see. for 350$ i think i may have to buy it even though its only 8 megapixels or so... chekc it out,. and let me know if u think it would make my Dat, Ray, and soon to be Geophagus look out of this world...
Has anybody used one of these or owned one before???
Any Advice for a dude who only wants to spend upto450-500$ tops!

Digital SLR is a definite good choice. However, for that price range you are looking at $1000 plus. If you want to stay lower, try a Digital ZLR, the sony DSC-H2 is really good. If you have the $500 you may want to consider the H5. However with this camera type you are definitely going to want the Macro filters. The set with the +10, +4, +2, +1 would be recommended if you intend to take very close pictures. I have the H2, and love it. The megapixels aren't as important IMO as the other abilities. 6 MP is enough for me. The H2 features manual focus, white balance, apeture, ISO, exposure, and shutter settings. You can also get this camera for ~$275.

i use a Canon S2 (now a S3 is out)
great on close ups with a 12x optical, and is right on the border of a digi SLR. it takes good pics of fish in motion once you play with the settings a little

That's a nice looking camera. I have a kodak and I love their lenses, and the CCD sensitivity is good. The one you're looking at is better than mine, and mine produces good pictures.

The fact that it will shoot in RAW format makes it worth the money.
Also, as stated above, megapixels dont mean crap if you're shooting through a crap lense.
