I did it last yr in my 150 by placing some on rocks, wood and burried some in the gravel making sure some was stuck out. Also make sure none of your fish will eat it, thats the main key

if it wasnt for some fish eating it and then the storm, id probably have a nice mossy bottom.

i just spread it out all over the tank by sticking some in the gravel. how fast does java moss? im trying to get it to cover the bottom of my 29g do u know how long it would take?

Tehy grow pretty fast. In stead of Java Moss try Rica they look a lot better. Rica looks more like a carpet then java moss and plus ricas will have tiny bubbles on it. If you have co2 and strong light then i will grow fast.

my idea didnt work the cichlids dug it all up which i though they wouldent cause they didnt bother my fake plants. maybe its cause i took all their decorations out, ill try again with the decorations in and post how it goes.

ya i would just like to have java moss that stays a nice green and grows as rapidly as everyone elses!!!
