Getting out of cichla

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Looks like I'm gonna have to get rid of my Ventuari Tem first. I've got a male Fosorochromis rostratus around 10-12" that has been sparring with him and won't leave him alone. He pays no mind whatsoever to the Sao Fran or Azul, but doesn't seem to like the Tem. It's funny how easily these fish will make a large (8x4x4) tank seem small.

I'm pretty sure I need to rename this thread lol. I've been eyeing what bass to add instead of what bass to get rid of. I also added a good amount of catappa leaves to the big tank and it seemed to have a nice affect on my fish. The water is that nice light amber or tea color and my fishes colors seem to pop a little more. Looking at getting a year supply of these for all my tanks......1300 or so gallons will make for a lot of leaves.

I've always liked large predators, so I knew it would be tough to get rid of 'em. These guys are just way too cool to give up. I'll try to get some pics up soon. I like your username btw. Cigars are an interest of mine that can make Cichla look cheap sometimes.

Well, looks like I am getting back into Cichla. After being without for a while, I just haven't been as interested in fish keeping. Cichla are definitely one of the coolest fish I've ever kept. Very soon, I'll be starting out again with 4 Rio Meta Orinos, so here we go again.
