This is why I said what I said. The basics of filtration should be known before housing rays. With that said, make sure you see the rays eat. Make sure they're healthy and as long as everything else is good with your tank, rays are pretty hardy creatures, even the retics
k thanks again...

My retic started off on black worms. Then shifted to nightcrawlers. Haven't made transition past them. I do inject a nightcrawler periodically with vitamins. He seems to be doing well on this. He'll be 2 in July and is about 10" in diameter.

I got my male almost 2 years ago online. He didn't eat for 2 days, so I bought some freshwater grass shrimp (that's what the importer had been feeding).
That did the trick. I was then able to get him to eat live black worms. I kept trying to get him to eat market shrimp without any luck, then one day he just started.
His disc is a solid 12" in diameter, total length maybe 20" to 22"
He's in a 240 with 2 canister filters and a constant drip using a sump.

Thanks guys for all the tips! I been trying fbw and shrimp. Haven't actually seen them eat it but its been about week now and they're still alive. Hopefully they're doing good!
