Getting rid of fish

Dogs are food in lots of places too. 'Fish are food' is not a valid argument for fish not being pets.

Exactly! That's why people euthanize/put a dog to sleep when it has serious illness. You wouldn't euthanize your family member, would you?

I would if they were terminal, their suffering was unbearable and its what they wanted (if it was legal) and id want the same for me in the same circumstance.

Would you not consider pulling the plug to be tantamount to euthanization?
 
If you have ever seen a family member suffer from a crazy debilitating illness and they gave you the call on when to "pull the plug"... its only right to do so if they have no hope of surviving and they're not there anymore. There's a point when the person you know is gone and its just a shell.

Idk I'm very blunt on this subject, I may have to "get rid" of my red hi fin wolf, if he can't play nice with the FATF.... but he will be going to a friend who I know will take good care of him!

All in all you gotta do what you gotta do. If your not happy with a fish then get it to someone who will be, or if that's not an option give it a humane death, whether by feeding to other fish or vodka and ice water, etc. Long as its not flushing it live or letting it suffocate that's just sadistic

If you don't like your current stock then sell them, trade them, or give them away (to a good home). Then you can start from scratch. I'm currently in the process of doing this myself. I want to get into more peaceful fish maybe even saltwater. gota keep it enjoyable.

Think that guy mistook keeping fish for the persons whole life rather than the lifespan of the fish. Thats what I got from the buttwiping reference anyway.
