I was wondering if anyone has experience with "Had-A-Snail" or other chemical method to kill snails? I would apprecaite comments regarding effectiveness, toxicity to fish, etc. Thanks.

personally I'd get a snail eatting fish.

Good and bad. Without knowing the stocklist of the OP, you shouldn't suggest that. Remove every snail manually. Yes, hand picking.;) Or bait them with lettuce weighed down with a spoon or rock.

Chemicals are not recommended for use. If the snails die, can you remove every single body? If you fail, you risk messing up the water conditions and killing your fish.

you can put copper in the water

All chemicals suggested for elimination of snails contain copper sulfate. Strictly not recommended. If you intend to introduce invertebrates in a few years, there is little chance they can survive even small traces of copper and yet again, I've already explained in my post above the consequences for using one.

Baiting with a piece of lettuce works very well IMO. I have done this to move snails from one tank that has no snail eating fish to another that does many times and it works very well. My puffers and loaches appreciate how well it works also :)

yeah, plus if you keep plants... copper is a no go for a lot of the sensitive ones. I just feed them to my dwarf puffer. I actually can't find enough of them so I have to go to the petstore every few months to get more. They sure do look at me funny, I guess no one likes actually getting snails.
