Getting rid of snails

Without knowing the tank size of the OP, please don't suggest clown loaches as your last resorts to eliminate snails. He may not be able to keep them for a long time and anyway, clown loaches are quite overrated for snail bombardments. There are plenty other choices available but you must know the tank size before even suggesting a fish.

Some loach other then Clown Loach time!
 
If you try to chemically remove the snails, expect an amonia spike from the sudden bio-load of rotting snails.
 
Reduce the dGH and pH (ie. add straight RO or DI), the lack of Ca++, Mg++ and sheer acidity of the water will make their shells brittle. Don't do this if you have sensitive fish.
