Here's a pic of the festae. I can't get the haitiensis to come out hiding yet, so pics of them later. The male's jaw looks like it might be messed up, but I won't be able to tell for a few weeks. They both have evidence of running into the walls of the tank they were kept in.:WTF:
Sorry to hear that dude... Sounds really dissapointing. Anyway, the color on the festae looks pretty good for being in your tank less than a day. Good luck with them in the future.
I'm sure they will. I have no doubt about that. The female is already showing full body muted deep ruby red. She's going to be gorgeous. Don't get me wrong, these fish are quality fish. My problem on both accounts was the size. Size matters! LOL
Just to show you guys that they are indeed quality fish even though much smaller than I expected. Here's a couple pics with my crappy camera. I swear after I get the fish room done, I'm buying a really good camera and macro lens.
The male kept biting at the females fins, so I added my adult rainbow shark, Jaws, to the tank. Jaws is fast enough to avoid them and curious enough to keep them interested in him and not each other.
I finished removing the Eco-complete and put some regular gravel in the tank. The floating radicans are now in pots in front of the main cave pot. The pots and plants provide a maze for the female to attempt to lose the pursuing male in.
