well had a bad chain of events today, woke up to find the mail missing, looked for a hour to find him, to discover he was dead burried in the sand. filled with sand idk if she killed him or if he suffocated on the sand and she burried him, took him out. shes got stressed out and by end of the night she was eatign the eggs, i seperated her tognight to try to give the eggs a chance, what do u guys think?

Bad news mate.... gutted u lost ur male.

If the eggs arent fungussing ( going white ) You still stand a good chance of raising the fry. Trick is to keep em clean, I use an airstone near to the eggs to create a water flow that keeps debrit off the eggs, and keeps em well oxgented. I will sometimes add some Meth blue to the tank too.

If you can get em to hatch, they may dissapear for a few days, dont worry they'll be in there somewhere, just keep feeding with liquid based fry food and they'll re appear. Herein the UK i use Interpets 'Liquifry' for the first 2-3 weeks or so.

Good luck

Keep us posted.

awesome! however, I am sorry to hear about your loss. I forgot to mention that too. For texas cichlids, this tends to happen. I had a breeding pair of Escondidos which bred for me 5 times. The 6th time, the male killed the female.

You can always raise the fry yourself anyways. Good luck!
